Weighmaster Report
Big news of the last couple of months is Breanna’s first marlin, a striped tagged at the Ulladulla Comp after a two hour plus fight on Mad Mullet. That’s good use of your away days.
I’ve also heard of marlin captures on Evolution and McGoo and Mark McCreadie feeding the Mako’s. Club weigh-ins have been very quiet with Charlie and Ray the only ones weighing fish in the last few months, although Tim and Dougie caught a couple of Yellowbelly at Burrinjuck in December. I had the pleasure of fishing Nowra with Grant this year and although we didn’t set any records for captures we both weighed in fish Friday and Saturday. Poor weather, big tides and lots of sharks on the banks meant few captures for those that ventured wide, although Evolution scored a feed of snapper. The club scored a couple of prizes with Samantha winning Ladies and Mark the Biggest Bream. A couple of quality Gilligan’s occurred over the weekend but we’ll embarrass Grant and Daman about that later. Overall it was a good weekend with plenty of food, alcohol and stories under the gazebo. Was happy for Dave Busuttil but personally sad to see Sideshow being sold recently as I had my most memorable fishing experience on her just under three years ago with my first marlin. Many thanks to those who took up the challenge for the Peter Stockwell Bream Comp. There weren’t a lot of fish captures but it wasn’t bad for a first time. Our winners on the day were Stephen Camilleri in the Seniors (30cms) and Aiden Layt in the Juniors (31cms). Thanks to Chef White for the well cooked snags. Don’t forget to take advantage of your away days over the next few months as well as checking your club calendars for club weekends, BBQ’s and upcoming Comps, Paul |

Tuna Time!
Over the last few weeks club members have gone into a frenzy with large schools of southern bluefin tuna swimming around off the Sydney coast.
The last few weeks have seen a large contingent of members head out from Botany Bay into the wide blue waters to test their luck and locate these great sports fish.
The rush is on to land a beauty before they disappear.
Thanks to Joe Tabboule for the great photos.
